Investment in our facilities

After the major refurbishment project of the pool, reception and changing rooms, we continued to invest in our facilities during summer 2012.  Technical upgrades behind the scenes aren’t plain for all to see, but are vitally important nonetheless...

Last year Poolside Manor underwent a complete refurbishment where the look and feel inside the building was completely transformed. Longstanding clients may remember the enclosed reception and café – ‘pokey’, to say the least. This is now a thing of the past. Upon entering the building, customers are greeted by a significantly larger foyer/ reception area, where the light pours in through several newly fitted windows. The extended viewing gallery and brand new café make for a much improved customer experience. Whether this is simply a chance to catch up on the day’s news over a coffee, or time spent watching your child develop their swimming technique, we feel the new look poolside is now a much brighter, airier, more comfortable place to be. And that’s just for spectators...


...Both the changing rooms and pool hall have been given a complete make over. Bathers can now enjoy brand new changing facilities as well as a completely resurfaced poolside floor, not forgetting the newly improved brighter light fittings both underwater and throughout the pool hall.


These changes are clear for all to see. What might not be so obvious are the major developments we have made behind the scenes...

During the summer closedown several further upgrades took place...

  • We fitted two new boilers, both twice the capacity of their predecessors. This gives us greater control over pool temperature and central heating – something at the top of our agenda, especially as the winter months draw near.
  • Our new plant room electricity panel offers greater reliability and resilience, and allows us to digitally monitor humidity and pool temperature so we can make sure it’s just right for our bathers.
  • The water quality and cleanliness at poolside manor is also something we are very proud of. Our new pool test kit allows us to examine the quality of the water to a much finer degree than ever before. We continue to manually test the pool water several times a day, seven days a week (not to mention sending off samples to an external laboratory on a monthly basis, just to keep us in check).
  • A newly upgraded fire alarm system means Poolside Manor continues to be an extremely safe environment for all our clients, young and old.

As we continue to grow we need to make sure our systems and office facilities can keep track of the huge amount of data we hold and process on behalf of our customers. We now run nealry 300 classes every week and hold detailed records for thousands of our clients. To keep us at the forefront we made significant investment in our office and IT facilities which included a new commercial printer, and major IT upgrades plus many more pieces of ancilliary equipment.

Our new reception was complimented with new chairs, and we undertook a number of other upgrades to lighting and electrics that will allow our weekend parties to be even better for our budding divas and dudes!

To round off we increased our poolside lighting by a further 50% as well as replacing our external security lighting. 

We're not stopping there and we will continue to add more and more enhancements during the coming year to make Poolside Manor a place that our clients are rightly proud of.
